How we check rates
Every rate on GetDeposited comes from the bank's or finance company's own public web page, read by our software once a day. We never estimate, interpolate or copy rates from other comparison sites.
Collection
- Once a day (around 07:00 Singapore time) a real web browser loads each bank's fixed deposit and rate pages listed below, one page at a time with pauses in between.
- Bank-specific readers pick out the Singapore dollar rate tables: tenure, rate, minimum and maximum deposit, customer tier, and conditions such as fresh funds or online-only placement.
- Benchmarks (T-bill cut-off yields and Singapore Savings Bond rates) come from the Monetary Authority of Singapore's public statistics API.
- The raw page captures are kept so any figure can be traced back to what the bank published.
Checks before anything is published
- A page that does not have the shape our reader expects (a redesign, a bot check, a different site) is rejected. The bank is then shown as "check bank site" instead of being guessed.
- Rates must be plausible (above 0% and below 8% p.a.) and tenures between 1 and 60 months.
- If today's read fails but we verified the bank's rates in the last 48 hours, those figures stay up with a "Not re-verified today" label and the time they were last verified. After 48 hours they are removed.
- We get an alert whenever a bank's page stops reading cleanly, and fix the reader.
Ranking
- Offers are sorted by rate, highest first. No bank pays for position, and affiliate links (if any) never change the order.
- Where a bank publishes its own blended "effective rate" (for example a deposit bundle where part of the money sits in a savings account), we rank by that effective rate and show the advertised rate next to it.
- By default the table shows the best rate per bank that is open to any customer for the amount you enter. Priority / premier tiers and new-customer-only offers are hidden until you switch them on.
- Deposit bands are applied as published: a rate shows only if your amount is within its minimum and maximum.
What we leave out
- Foreign-currency deposits, structured deposits, dual-currency investments and bundles that require buying an investment or insurance product.
- CPF and SRS fixed deposits, and corporate deposits.
- Rates that exist only inside a bank's app or by phone and are not published on the web.
