Editorial Standards
Who we are, how we survey rates, and what our independence commitment means in practice.

Rate Survey Methodology
The GetDeposited rate survey runs every Wednesday. We check rates directly at each institution’s public rate table or account application — not through data-aggregator feeds, which can be 48–72 hours stale. Our survey covers:
- All nationally available FDIC-insured online banks with publicly posted deposit rates
- The four largest U.S. banks by deposit volume (Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citibank)
- Five leading regional banks (Regions, Fifth Third, KeyBank, Huntington, U.S. Bank)
- Ten federally chartered credit unions with open or accessible membership (including PenFed, Alliant, Navy Federal, SECU)
- The three largest fintech neobanks by reported user count with FDIC-insured deposit programs
- Brokerage cash yields for five major retail brokerages (Fidelity, Schwab, Vanguard, Merrill Edge, Morgan Stanley)
We report the best available ongoing rate in each product category — not promotional rates that expire within 90 days, and not rates requiring minimum balances over $100,000 unless noted.
No Paid Placement Policy
No institution pays to appear in GetDeposited’s rate tables, product comparisons, or editorial guides. Rate rankings reflect only APY, with secondary sort on minimum balance and fee structure.
We participate in affiliate marketing programs — if you open an account via a link on this site, we may earn a commission at no cost to you. Affiliate links are disclosed at the point of use. Affiliate relationships are disclosed in full at /disclosure.
Affiliate relationships do not influence:
- Whether an institution appears in our rate tables
- The ranking of any institution in any comparison
- The content of any guide or educational article
- Editorial recommendations in the product-matching tool
FDIC and NCUA Verification
Before including any institution in our rate tables, we verify FDIC membership at banks.data.fdic.gov or NCUA membership at mycreditunion.gov. Institutions that market FDIC insurance through a pass-through structure are labelled accordingly, with the partner bank named where disclosed.
Rate Accuracy Commitment
Rates on savings accounts and money market accounts change when the issuing institution decides to change them — sometimes within hours of a Federal Reserve decision. Every rate displayed on this site carries an “as of” date from our most recent survey. We commit to updating rates within 48 hours of a Federal Reserve rate decision.
Always verify the current rate on the institution’s own website before depositing. This site is not a fiduciary, is not FDIC-insured, and does not custody funds.
AI and Machine Learning Disclosure
GetDeposited does not use AI-generated text for product comparisons, rate tables, or editorial guides. All prose on this site is written and reviewed by Margery Penrose or a named contributor. We support AI crawling for educational purposes — see our /llms.txt and /ai.txt for our AI-agent policy.
